Permission Post
Aug. 18th, 2024 11:38 amMaximilian Victor Davis - Otherwise known as Max or Mr. Davis - is an OC of my own and SPC for Chronicles of Darkness. Exactly what he is I won't spoil here but he is quite powerful and as such requires a lovely permissions post here.
Powers:
Mr. Davis is magical. He has abilities of both Mages from Chronicles of Darkness and True Fae as well. As such, he can do quite a lot of things given his mastery over these powers. However, he primarily works on the idea of Deals and Bargains. He doesn't do much without working out a deal with someone before hand. His prices vary depending on what the person he is bargaining with wants him to give or do.
He does traffic in souls and will bargain for your soul but only after you perish for the final time. Then you enter his service for all of eternity. As you can imagine, that payment is reserved for the big favors. For smaller things like wanting a new car or needing a place to stay, he charges favors and tasks to do for him. He's not used to being able to directly interact and interfere with the world given avoiding the attention of the God Machine. Which is why he still very much still operates like this now in other worlds and games.
Max's main domain is music. Music allows him to use his powers and most of them are music based. His Title is Melody Mania and as such, anyone with a song stuck in their head he can find and communicate with. Even if he is the one who put the song there. He causes music to play around him and others to send messages or just convey things to them. His offensive magic is also music based, using both sound and making music into energy or physical matter to attack with. Think that music battle in Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
If it plays a tune, or hums a melody, he can mess with it. Doesn't mean he will.
Lastly, Mr. Davis is infected with something known only as The Contagion. It is a sickness that affects reality itself. It is one of the reasons he is the way he is. His very existence if a warping of what should be possible in reality and he thrives on it. Now, he cannot spread this elsewhere due to the world needing God Machine Infrastructure for the Contagion to infect. Mr. Davis has one such Infrastructure he devoured once upon a time inside him, which is why he's infected. This does allow him to manipulate himself and the limited space around him in reality bending ways.
One can temporarily be affected by Contagion if one drinks Mr. Davis's blood. Given most others don't have an Infrastructure for the Contagion to latch onto, they will burn it out of their system in time. Still, during that time the afflicted individual could suffer any host of symptoms and side effects. Which can be discussed if you ever wanna do that to your character.
For the usual, I'm good with pretty much everything. Ask first if you are unsure.
